MAJOR accomplishment!

I must appologize in advance for the vulgarity of this post. Only a mother would know how proud I am of my baby girl and her accomplishment today. I have been working with Lindsey for the past two weeks on potty training. I told her on the day before we started that she wouldn't be able to wear diapers anymore starting the next day. When she got up that morning, I asked her if she was ready to start wearing her big girl underwear, and she was really excited about it. We had a few accidents, of course, but for the most part she has done pretty well. The last two days, she has even been going pee-pee without me. The only problem that we had was when it came to going poopy. She would never tell me until after she had gone, which makes for a huge mess and trying to clean that up when she is wearing big girl underwear is NOT FUN!! I finally told her that I wouldn't let her wear big girl underwear again until she could go poopy in the potty because I just don't like cleaning up that mess. Finally, I decided that she needed to have a little incentive to go poopy in the potty. We went to Pamida and she picked out a new baby, but she couldn't open it until she had done a poopy in the potty. She got the new baby on Saturday and finally today she got to open the baby. I should have known something was up with her this afternoon because I was trying to get her to take a nap for a whole hour. I was just about to lay down myself when I heard her get up, again, and go into the bathroom. I went to check on her just to be safe, and when I got in there she said to me, "Mommy, I did a GIANT poopy in the potty!" Sure enough, she had done a giant poopy! I am so proud of her! We called Daddy and then we called both Grandmas and then she got to open her Strawberry Shortcake baby. I am just hoping this continues!

Yay!!!! If she does revert, make her go bottomless and clean up the mess herself if she doesn't make it to the toilet. It's what worked for us.

That's awesome! Yay Lindsey! The potty chart thing worked for Allyson. She loves stickers, so I let her pick out her favorite stickers at walmart, and for every time she used the potty, she got to put a sticker on her chart. She loved it. You had a great idea too- not opening her doll till she went.
Good job!!

That is a big accomplishment. It was a good idea to get the doll. We did the same thing with Chase, only instead of a doll, it was a train...of course! Good Job!!!

Congrats! We are so happy for you guys. It makes a big difference. We had to use cold showers for Mariah before she wouldn't do it in her pants.

That is AWESOME! Good job Lindsey and good job Mom! Potty training I thought wasn't the most fun thing to do as a parent but once it is done it is so wonderful not to have to change diapers any more.
