MAJOR accomplishment!

I must appologize in advance for the vulgarity of this post. Only a mother would know how proud I am of my baby girl and her accomplishment today. I have been working with Lindsey for the past two weeks on potty training. I told her on the day before we started that she wouldn't be able to wear diapers anymore starting the next day. When she got up that morning, I asked her if she was ready to start wearing her big girl underwear, and she was really excited about it. We had a few accidents, of course, but for the most part she has done pretty well. The last two days, she has even been going pee-pee without me. The only problem that we had was when it came to going poopy. She would never tell me until after she had gone, which makes for a huge mess and trying to clean that up when she is wearing big girl underwear is NOT FUN!! I finally told her that I wouldn't let her wear big girl underwear again until she could go poopy in the potty because I just don't like cleaning up that mess. Finally, I decided that she needed to have a little incentive to go poopy in the potty. We went to Pamida and she picked out a new baby, but she couldn't open it until she had done a poopy in the potty. She got the new baby on Saturday and finally today she got to open the baby. I should have known something was up with her this afternoon because I was trying to get her to take a nap for a whole hour. I was just about to lay down myself when I heard her get up, again, and go into the bathroom. I went to check on her just to be safe, and when I got in there she said to me, "Mommy, I did a GIANT poopy in the potty!" Sure enough, she had done a giant poopy! I am so proud of her! We called Daddy and then we called both Grandmas and then she got to open her Strawberry Shortcake baby. I am just hoping this continues!

Backyard additions

We are very proud of our new backyard and all the work that has gone into it. Here are a few more of the additions that we put in this year.

The new firepit! This has really been fun, but we haven't used it a whole lot yet.
Green sand! The girls love this and it shows. It shows all over the yard, their clothes, the kitchen, the bathroom...Let's just say it can get pretty messy, but they have fun.

Cuddle time

Lindsey was relaxing in the hammock on one fairly chilly evening. Megan decided to join her, and we took advantage of the photo opp. We have two very cute little girls (if I do say do myself)!

Necklaces

I think that Megan is going to be a girly-girl. She loves necklaces! And don't forget the bracelets! She is always wearing one or the other. Jason snapped these pictures one day after church.

Here she is with every necklace we own on. How did she figure out that those play rings could go on her arms?
Daddy took the binky away!

Painted doors

I have been wanting to paint our front door from the day that we moved in and this was the weekend that I finally got it done! Well, okay, so Joe and JoAnn helped out quite a bit. They came up this weekend, and if it wasn't for them, I never would have had the motivation to get this project done. Thanks, Joe and JoAnn! It looks so awesome!

This is my new door! What do you think?
We decided to paint the back door as well. Now it matches the trim on the rest of the house.
Just kidding! Here is the actual finished project. The pink was just the primer! But we had Jason and the neighbors panicking, which was pretty funny.
Our home! It just makes me so happy to see the red door.
Thanks again, Joe and JoAnn! The door looks awesome!
So be honest, what do you think of the door? Jason isn't so sure that he likes it, but I just love it. Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings.
